Tabla, performed and taught.
MA, B.Ed · B-High Grade Artist, All India Radio (Mumbai)
Classical tabla in the Banaras tradition — on stage, in the studio, and in lessons for students of every age and level.
About
A lifetime at the tabla, passed on stroke by stroke.
Bhushan Kumar began learning tabla as a child, sitting at the feet of his gurus.
Every year since has gone into deepening that training: as a soloist, as an accompanist, and for fifteen years as a teacher. He holds an MA and a B.Ed, and is a B-High Grade Artist of All India Radio, Mumbai.
He has performed across India and abroad, sharing the stage with many of the country’s renowned artists.
The Tabla Era is where that work lives: concerts and collaborations, and lessons that keep the discipline of the guru-shishya tradition while opening it to anyone ready to listen and practise.
